Mary Overlie, originator of the Six Viewpoints Theory and Practice, recommends 36 hours studying each one of the phenomena we encounter and use as ARTISTS — sPAcE, TiMe, Shape, moVemEnt, STOry, emotion. Deborah will take you into the laboratory for seven weeks. You can come once/week, twice/week, three times/week or practice asynchronously. Maybe you’ll just keep going for 36 hours each week like it’s your full-time job ;) A great intro to the Six Viewpoints practice. Suitable for beginners, intermediates, and advanced students. We practice together on Mondays at 1pm ET. We practice together on Wednesdays at 8:45am ET. We practice together on Saturdays at 1:30pm ET. Additionally, recordings will be made available for at-home, asynchronous practice. Her work has been seen at New York Live Arts, Living Theater, the Center for Performance Research, CAVE, the Glasshouse, Triskelion Arts, and Dixon Place. Treanor has been apprentice to Viewpoints founder Mary Overlie since 2013, and served as a primary reader for the Viewpoints book, "Standing in Space.” Treanor teaches the Viewpoints in New York and has assisted Overlie’s workshops in Switzerland, England, Spain, the Netherlands, and Austria. Most recently, she produced, assistant directed, and performed in Overlie’s Brain to Brain at Danspace Project.
